Sugar Free CandySugar Free Candy
I remember when I was around 10 years old name brand sugar free candy came out, eating a sugar free Reese Peanut Butter Cup for the first time was amazing. It tasted great, but the massive amounts of chemical additives required to generate a normal flavor cause terrible things to happen to digestive systems.

Looking back these candies were just the first of many new products using advanced chemistry to sweeten foods. Sucalose, Stevia, Nutrasweet, Saccharin, and Aspartame are all wonderful inventions that allow a large amounts of products to be created with little or reduced sugar. Just the other day in the grocery store I saw sugar free cake icing and sugar free brown sugar for baking. Each of these still had some real sugar inside them, but even a reduced level is better than nothing. Things really have changed since I was a kid.
