In 2007 I caused a major motor vehicle accident driving back from a friends house on a Sunday afternoon. A combination of a light lunch, drug interactions, and not having testing equipment resulted in me me driving my car when my blood sugar was dangerously low. I wrecked into a car, then drove some more until I crashed again, into a truck and disabling my vehicle. Nobody was seriously injured. I was very lucky.

It was a troubling experience. I remember very little of the entire afternoon, and had to piece the events back together from police reports, doctors, and insurance agents. I was playing video games, then, waking up in an ambulance. To this day one of the few few positive things I recall was my friend recognizing that I was in trouble and trying to help me. They offered me a glass of water, which was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had in my life.
